The European Union has removed anti-dumping duties on China imports for castings made from non-malleable cast iron and spheroidal graphite (S.G.) or ductile iron.
Duties of up to 47.8% were imposed in 2005 and normally last for 5 years but the European Commission was considering renewing them for another term after requests from European iron foundries for protection against cheap Chinese imports. However, in June 2011, their objections were withdrawn on the basis that the EC monitors import prices and is ready to re-impose anti-dumping duties if required.
What's your view on the anti-dumping duties on iron castings?
