Ambitious plans for an offshore wind farm at Dogger Bank off the UK's Yorkshire coast could generate 9 gigawatts of electricity and provide quality long terms jobs in the local area.
The planned project for 2,600 turbines would cover an 3,475 square mile site 100 miles off the east coast.
Npower and Scottish and Southern, are working together with Norwegian energy companies Statoil and Statkraft, in a consortium called Forewind which hopes to secure permission to develop the site as early as 2015.
If the project is given the go ahead, Yorkshire Coast College, in Scarborough would expand the training it offers and has already introduced changes to its vocational training curriculum.
