The Japan Automobile Dealers Association (JADA) has reported that car sales increased by 24.1 percent year on year in November, the third straight month of increase. Total sales were 221,048 cars. 30,315 trucks and 873 buses, with all classes of vehicle showing significant increases.
Automotive production for all classes of vehicles increased 20.3 percent year on year in October following a 4.5 percent reduction in September. Production of cars rose 20.0 percent to 773,694 units, trucks rose 22.8 percent to 120,036 units and buses rose 18.5 percent to 10,517 units.
It was good news for exports too with a total of 472,022 units exported in October, an increase year on year of 13.2% and the third consecutive month of increase.
The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association is a nonprofit industry association made up of fourteen manufacturers of passenger cars, trucks, buses and motorcycles in Japan. The industry body recognizes that the automotive sector is one of Japan's core economic drivers and integral to local and national economies around the globe.
