High Purity Nodular Pig Iron
Description:
- Nodular Pig Iron, also known as S.G. Pig Iron is used as a high purity furnace charge addition, primarily for the production of Ductile Irons.
- Contains low levels of deleterious trace elements enabling consistent production of ferritic grades.
- A low Sulphur content helps to maximise the recovery of Magnesium during the nodularisation process.
- Ultra high purity grades are available for production of 400/18 and other specialised grades of castings.

Basic Pig Iron
Description:
- Used as a furnace charge addition for the production of Flake and Ductile Cast Irons.
- Sulphur content is higher than Nodular Pig Irons but deleterious trace element count is low.
- Asmet also supply Basic Pig Iron for use as ballast and counterweights for boats, ships and heavy commercial vehicles and machines.

Foundry Pig Iron
Description:
- Foundry Pig Iron, also known as Haematite Pig iron is used as a furnace charge addition primarily for the production of Flake / Grey Cast Irons.
- Contains useful levels of Manganese, Sulphur and Phosphorus.
- High levels of Carbon and Silicon ensure a low melting point for reduced melting costs.
